We are an independent, female-owned, Toronto based company specializing in sustainable and maintenance-free plant installations, preserved moss and folia frame and biophilic design. We create restful, welcoming spaces by using natural materials to bring the beauty and tranquility of nature indoors. Ultimately, we hope that by rebuilding the bridges between the human and natural world, we can inspire people to invest in the environment as a way of investing in themselves and the future.

**A note on sustainability, the environment and sourcing: 

The raw materials used in The Indoor Forest’s moss art and Preserved Folia walls and frames are a combination of preserved mosses, lichens, and plants. The lichen used is grown in Norway, while most other mosses come from Italy, France, and Spain. The preserved plants are also sourced from a variety of European countries as well as parts of South America.

 These natural materials are sourced exclusively from farms that have shown a strong commitment to sustainability and follow strict ecological practices. Lichen takes 20 years to grow, therefore, the supplier’s partnered farms will not harvest more than 5% of a field at any time.  Once harvested, fields are left to repopulate for at least 20 years before revisiting.  Our preserved plants are also grown in controlled environments with the intention to be harvested for preservation.  No plant harvesting is done in nature, which limits the process’s environmental impact.
